Tickets are now available for History Boy Theatre Company’s holiday dinner theater “Striking 12.” Lidderdale Country Store is catering a roast turkey dinner preceding the show Dec. 27, 28, and 31.
The musical, with book, music and lyrics by Brendan Milburn, Rachel Sheridan and Valerie Vigoda, is inspired, in part, by Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Little Match Girl.” “Striking 12” tells the story of a grumpy, overworked New Yorker who resolves to spend New Year’s Eve alone in his apartment when a visitor brings some much needed cheer.
The show is directed by History Boy Theatre owners Robby and Angie Pedersen. They also are members of the cast with Katie Hoskins of Jefferson and Marty McGinn, of San Francisco.
“This is a different type of production for History Boy theatre Co. Rather than a big theatrical production, ‘Striking 12’ is more like a band telling a story. Of course, History Boy couldn’t put on a show without at least some theatrics, so our patrons will still get what they are accustomed to, a quality show in a unique space,” Robby Pedersen said.
Dinner will begin at 6 pm at History Boy Theatre in the historic home the theater shares with RVP~1875 at 115 S. Wilson in Jefferson. Tickets are $22.50 and can be purchased at RVP~1875, reserved by phone at 515-370-4306, or see Facebook for more information.
